I got to know about Mawlynnong, popularly known as the cleanest village in Asia, during my recent trip to Meghalaya. I had expected the village to be free of litter. But, after going there, I realized that Mawlynnong is not only litter-free but, every house there has such beautiful landscaping that would instantly catch your attention. The villagers are friendly and easy-going. This is one of the most progressive villages and has a 100% literacy rate.
