London in Bloom: Best Places to See Blossom in London
London in spring is pure magic. As the days get longer, the city bursts into colour with pink cherry blossoms, wisteria-draped houses, and tree-lined streets glowing with petals. Here’s where to find the most beautiful floral spots around the capital.
Central and The City
Head to St Paul’s Cathedral for a postcard-perfect view of the churchyard framed by blossoms, or stroll through Tavistock Square Gardens in Bloomsbury. Mount Street Gardens in Mayfair and Sloane Street in Belgravia are also stunning when the trees are in bloom.
North London
Explore Crouch End’s Cecile Park and Primrose Hill’s pastel-perfect Chalcot Crescent, both favourites for photographers. Hampstead Heath’s Hill Garden & Pergola and Alexandra Palace are peaceful green escapes with incredible spring views.
West and South London
Notting Hill’s Stanley Crescent and South Kensington’s Egerton Gardens are among London’s prettiest blossom-lined streets. Battersea Park’s Spring Tree Walk and Herne Hill’s Stradella Road are perfect for family strolls beneath the blooms.
East London and Parks
Head east to Vallance Road in Whitechapel, then finish at the London Blossom Garden in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park — a tranquil memorial garden filled with cherry trees. For classic spring colour, don’t miss Kew Gardens, Regent’s Park, or Kyoto Garden in Holland Park.
Wisteria Season
From late April to early May, London’s wisteria steals the show. Visit Kynance Mews, Bedford Gardens, and Stafford Terrace in Kensington for picture-perfect purple blooms — just remember to admire respectfully from the pavement.
