Staying on the Mooon in Vienna!

During our weekend trip to Vienna, we stayed at the unique Mooons Hotel… and it was amazing! We’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Mooons is a boutique hotel right next to Vienna Central Station… perfectly located for a weekend break, with easy access to the city centre and beyond. Whether you’re heading to the Wachau Valley or connecting to another Austrian city, it couldn’t be more convenient.

But what really stood out was the design… from the outside, it looks unlike anywhere we’ve ever stayed, with circular windows dotting the sleek black façade. Inside, those same windows fill one wall of each room, complete with a cushioned seat that’s perfect for relaxing and admiring the views.

We stayed in a city view room on the 7th floor and could spot St. Stephen’s Cathedral, St. Charles’s Church, the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Rathaus, the Votive Church, and even the Danube Tower… plus countless other domes and spires across the skyline.

The room was super modern, with a large TV featuring built-in Chromecast so we could stream Netflix straight from our phones, and a bathroom stocked with luxurious Rituals products.

At check-in, we loved the sustainability option… choosing to skip daily cleaning in exchange for free drink vouchers at the bar. The staff were great too, happily providing cutlery so we could enjoy a takeaway dinner in our room with our free drinks and a movie.

We didn’t try the breakfast since we had early sightseeing plans every morning, but the buffet looked delicious!

We stayed from Thursday to Sunday in October, with the three nights costing £440… great value for the quality and experience. Overall, Mooons Hotel was everything we look for in a city stay… stylish, comfortable, and perfectly located, with incredible views across Vienna. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the city or for clients looking for a unique, great-value base in Vienna.
