Tarnim Magic Garden, Koh Samui – A Jungle Full of Statues and Stories

Discover Tarnim Magic Garden in Koh Samui—a hidden jungle sculpture park built by a 77-year-old farmer. Here's the full Guide!

Can you imagine starting your life’s masterpiece at 77 years old?

That’s exactly what Khun Nim Thongsuk did. A retired durian farmer, he picked up his tools in 1976 and began carving stone statues on a peaceful hillside in central Koh Samui.

He kept going—year after year—transforming a quiet jungle corner into a sculpture garden filled with monks, mythical creatures, dancers, animals, gods… and even a statue of himself, meditating in peace.

Known as Tarnim Magic Garden (or the Secret Buddha Garden), this place is part spiritual sanctuary, part overgrown dreamland.
